Call for Venturing Stories! |
The Venturing Magazine needs stories about your Crew! Please let us know who you are and what you're doing so others can learn from your experiences (and vicariously enjoy your triumphs). How to submit a story: Email the story to me at

. I'd prefer the story to be sent as a Word document attached to the email but text is fine too. Please send photos as email attachments, not embedded in the text, so I can edit them as necessary (typically cropping and / or adjusting the brightness or contrast). Please send large photos (maybe 640 x 480 pixels) so I can link to full sized photos in the story. Alternatively, if you're registered on the site, http://venturingmag.org, you can let me know that you want to submit an article and I'll upgrade your registration to that of "Author" or a higher level. You can then write and submit the article online. It can be tricky, especially with images, so you must be willing to learn! |

My father, Tim Dunnahoo, and I, Blake Dunnahoo, as well as Mark Coladonato and his son, Tom, of Venturing Crew 345 in Round Rock, TX recently joined up with Venturing Crew 890 of Dallas, TX for a Rocky Mountain National Park high adventure backpacking trip and we all had a blast. After rendezvousing and spending the night alongside the Arkansas River at a KOA in Colorado, we enjoyed a great introduction to the crew by wrangling some class 4 and 5 rapids through a Royal Gorge rafting outfitter. Walls of white cold rapids broke against our skin, but the sun quickly warmed us up as it beamed through the canyon. The trip organizer, Mr. Squyres of Crew 890, even noted that in the decades that he has been making this trip he has never seen the rapids rage so high at this time of year. |

Crew 2238 would like to pass on a little info about our little group. We are a co-ed Crew that meets every other Wednesday at Community Lutheran Church in Las Vegas, NV at 6:30 pm. (07/09/08). We have 26 active youth members of our crew, with 14 male and 12 females at this time. We also have 8 adults that come out to play. We have a Kelley Green polo that is our field dress uniform, and a few different t-shirts, orange, tie dye, desert cameo and a few baseball style shirts for our activity shirts all with the Venturing logo and Crew 2238 and Las Vegas embroidered on them. |
